Focus on Chaise Lounges

June 22nd, 2008 by yumihesche

By Andrew Lewis The quintessential piece of furniture for relaxation, the chaise lounge combines luxury, style and function with beautiful form. Regardless of the material or style you choose, chaise lounges can make your outdoor living area much more versatile. According to industry experts, chaise lounges are an attractive part of a new trend in outdoor furniture called “low dining” groups. This term refers to tables and chairs that are low to the ground. In combination with other low seating, you can use a chaise lounge anywhere on your patio. A chaise lounge is typically made like a couch with a backrest on the short end. Made to be used by one person at a time, the backrest on the short end allows the user to stretch his or her legs out over the extended cushion. Wood chaise lounges are especially pleasant because the natural oils retained in the wood act as an insect repellent. This is the case with Red Cedar and Teak chaise lounges. Attractive cushions not only make using a chaise much more comfortable, they can enhance the entire look of your patio as well. When choosing fabric, try to find one that is durable and can handle a bit of moisture. A modern Teak chaise lounge expands the usable living space of a home; it can make your backyard feel more cozy, comfortable and warm. Chaise lounges also offers you the ability to enjoy the pleasant outdoor atmosphere and natural surroundings in comfort. Choose a chaise lounge for its versatility, unique style or comfortable fit. Chaise lounges offer many choices for relaxing and are a perfect fit with outdoor spaces. Earn More Than $54000-More Than You Do Now Over The Next 5 Years!

June 15th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Jeff Altman Ladies and gentlemen. If you are like most people, you are finding it more difficult to pay your bills as easily today as you did a few years ago. After all, gas prices are much hire. Commuting costs are higher. Food prices are increasing. Health, life and auto insurance costs are increasing. The cost of you morning coffee is higher. Lunch at your desk costs more. Your morning newspaper costs more. And your salary is increasing by 4 or 5% per year. Do you want to increase your earnings by more than $54000 over the next 5 years? If you answered yes, the way to do this is to change jobs once for a $10000 raise and get a 4% raise each year. Thats it. Change jobs once for a $10000 raise and get a modest 4% raise. Now if you change jobs for a $15000 raise and get a 4% raise, you will earn $76000 more. The numbers are even more striking if you change jobs twice. Change jobs once for $10000. Year one: You earn $10000 more Year two: You earn $10400 Year three: You earn $10816 Year four, you get a $10000 raise. You earn $20816 more Year five, you earn $21648 more. In other words, over 5 years, youll earn more than $73000 more than you do today. If your two raises are for $15000 each Year one, youll earn $15000 more than you do today Year two, youll earn $15600 more than you do today Year three, youll earn $16224 more than you do today Year four, youll earn $31224 more than you do today Year five, youll earn $32472 more than you do today. By changing jobs twice and earning $15000 more each time, YOU WILL EARN $110520 MORE THAN YOU DO TODAY. So, unless you are independently wealthy, you need to change jobs in order to move ahead financially in the current system. Kirengeshoma palmata

June 7th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Geoff Bryant Kirengeshoma palmata Sometimes known as yellow waxbells, Kirengeshoma palmata is a late-flowering rhizomatous perennial up to 1.2m high with arching stems and is native to the woods and mountain lowlands of Korea and the Japanese islands of Shikoku and Kyushu. The unusual name? No, it doesn’t come from an obscure Danish botanist called Kirengeshom. It’s really just a Latinised version of the original Japanese name. Palmata, a common specific epithet, means shaped like a hand and refers to the foliage. Formerly classified in its own family, it is now a member of the hydrangea family, although its flowers, which are around 3cm long, are more reminiscent of those of a single-flowered Japanese anemone. The flowers of most of the plants seen in gardens are a fairly deep yellow, though the colour of wild specimens ranges from white to apricot. While beautiful and graceful, the fleshy-petalled flowers, which are borne in sprays on wiry stems that bend under their own weight, never really open fully. The buds start to burst in early autumn. While the flowers can be something of a disappointment, it isn’t too great a disadvantage that they don’t open fully as this is a plant grown as much for its foliage as its flowers. The leaves are up to 20cm long and wide with pointed lobes that are deeper on the basal leaves and very shallow on the reduced leaves found on the flower stems. The generally accepted opinion is that it the only species in its genus, but some botanists prefer to classify the Korean plants separately as Kirengeshoma koreana. As far as gardeners are concerned any differences between the plants are very minor, though there is some suggestion that the Korean plants may eventually be larger than their Japanese cousins and that their flowers open more fully. As you would expect, considering its origins, Kirengeshoma palmata prefers a moist, leafy, humus-rich soil in partial shade. In other words, typical woodland conditions. In late autumn it dies back to its rootstock, which is extremely hardy and quite capable of withstanding -15C. It is propagated either by division in winter or early spring, or by raising from seed. The seed prefers cool temperatures, around 12to 15C and the germination time is variable, anywhere from 30to 300 days. I’ve found that sowing fresh seed in the autumn and leaving the seed tray in a shady place for germination in the following spring satisfies any stratification requirements and gives good results. Kirengeshoma palmata is an ideal companion for any Japanese or Chinese woodland plants and looks magnificent under maples, the leaf shape of which it complements perfectly. Because it needs ample summer moisture it thrives at the edges of a bog garden with candelabra primroses, Rodgersia and irises. Its late flowering habit is invaluable in providing interest at a time of year when other woodland plants may be becoming rather dull. So why isn’t it far more common? I have absolutely no idea. Cellular Phone Contract Tips

June 1st, 2008 by yumihesche

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gary_Gresham]Gary Gresham Choosing a cellular phone contract and choosing a cell phone for you can be very challenging. Choosing a cell phone that’s right for you depends on your personal preferences and your needs. Cellular phone choices vary from the multi-featured and cool style to the strictly functional and unassuming. It is strictly a personal choice, and you’ll want to choose a cellular phone that is right for the way you use it. A good cellular phone choice is one that has features you’ll enjoy using. While there are many factors to consider, it all boils down to choosing a cell phone that will offer you the best design, features, and performance. If you thought choosing a cell phone design was hard, choosing your features isn’t any easier. Cellular phone choices range from simple and functional to complicated features. As a general rule, don’t buy anything more than you will use. If you want your phone to strictly make calls, stick with the basics. If you’re going to use your mobile for e-mail or multi-tasking, go with a higher-end cellular phone choice. If you want to have fun with your phone consider one with a camera. When choosing a cell phone plan, think carefully about how much you’ll actually be using your phone. Usage time is the basis of every cellular phone contract. The more minutes in your plan the more money you will have to pay. Most cellular phone contracts from the major carriers vary from 300 minutes a month up to 5,000 minutes. You also have to think about when you’ll be making most of your calls. Most carriers consider only those calls made during peak periods typically, Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., as minutes that actually count toward your plan minutes. Calls made during the weekends, nights, and holidays, are usually free and are considered unlimited anytime minutes. Calls made to other cell phones on a carrier’s network can also be free. You’ll need to find out if checking your voicemail, incoming and outgoing calls count toward unlimited anytime minutes. Be sure you know how everything works when comparing cell phone plans. When choosing a cell phone plan that is best for you, you’re better off overestimating the number of plan minutes you’ll need rather than paying extra, expensive airtime charges each month. If you find that you’ve overestimated or underestimated your usage, you can easily change your rate plan. When comparing cell phone plans, keep in mind that this may affect your contract date by moving it out further, so ask. 7 points to consider before agreeing to a cellular phone contract: 1. Verify the unlimited anytime minutes you have and what kind of calls count toward them. 2. Be aware of all roaming, overtime, and extra charges. 3. If you travel a lot, or have lots of friends and relatives all over creation get a cellular phone contract nationwide plan with free long distance. 4. Know where your local calling area begins and ends. 5. Many of the great deals require a two-year cellular phone contract. Make sure you understand this commitment and how much it will cost you to break it. 6. If you’re in the middle of a cellular phone contract or not on a contract and just want to buy a new phone you don’t need to sign a new contract. But you probably won’t get any discounts that would come with a new contract. 7. Extended warranties and insurance can come in handy if your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged. Just be sure to find out the total cost. Before you sign any cellular phone contract just be sure you know how everything works so there are no surprises. Copyright 2005 1 Stop Shopping Online.com. How to Improve Your Marriage to Keep It Sizzling Hot

May 18th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Hector Milla Keeping a marriage together is a task that should not be out of obligation, but should be done because of the love and respect each partner has for each other. While courtship, marriage then divorce seem to be a regular stage in a persons life, this could be totally eradicated. Being married for 3 decades or more should not be seen as triumph but a necessity. The decision of getting married should be given multiple thinking over. Although you love a person and has deep devotion and loyalty, a lot of changes happen while inside a marriage that can change the way a person feels for one another. The key is to keep the marriage exciting at all times. Every relationship has space for improvement. Improving your marriage is something each and every married person should strive for. If you keep your marriage from becoming predictable and monotonous you give a reason for you and your partner something to look forward to and get excited about. Each partner should be open to changes. Learn to experiment and accept those changes. Being adventurous both in your daily activities and in the bed room will keep the relationship young. Learn to accept your partner even through his or her changes. The person you married is not the same one that he or she is now or next year and the years after. People change, and if those changes do not affect your vows try to be accepting and flexible. Role playing can be a great idea to keep the relationship fresh. This could not be counted as cheating so do not be jealous. Although you may play games wherein you imagine the person is a different one, you still both know deep inside that it is your partner. Having an open mind can improve your marriage a whole lot. Umbrellas for Children

May 14th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Gary Wells Does your child need an umbrella? That may seem like an odd question, but if your kids arent walking in the rain to get somewhere important, like school or the library, they may not need an umbrella at all. Some boisterous young ones turn umbrellas into battle weapons; so first decide whether an umbrella will truly be needed before purchasing one. If your child will need an umbrella for walking trips in rainy weather, get one that doesnt have metal spokes sticking out at the end. These, when blown by the wind or poked by a child, can lead to eye or facial injuries. Look for round plastic ends that are relatively harmless. Your child will be better able to manage a small-size umbrella, one that is designed for children. There are sizes for preschoolers, and a larger size for school-age children, and finally, full-size or even oversize umbrellas for adults. Getting your son or daughter the correct size of umbrella will allow them to manage it better, especially on windy or blustery days. A smaller size will be easier to store, as well, especially at school where it may need to remain open while drying. Try to find an umbrella with an easy-to-open spring. This can be operated by the push of a button, but teach your little ones how to point the umbrella away from their faces when pushing the button to avoid getting hurt. Be careful about the push-up kind of handle where the spring must be slid up the center rod before it will open the fan of protective vinyl. Small fingers can get caught and pinched in this type of mechanism. Show children how to carefully fold up and close the umbrella without hurting themselves. A handle with a hook, like a J, is another helpful feature for kids who may hang them up on coat hooks in their school lockers or on Sunday school pegs. Depending on your childs age, you may want to select a color or pattern that will seem fun to use; otherwise, the new umbrella may sit unused in a coat closet unless your child views it as an interesting or attractive accessory to their outdoor wear. Its also a good idea to show kids how to hold and carry their umbrellas. For example, if a strong gust of wind should blow it out of their hand and into the street, remind them not to run after it without first looking both ways. In fact, it may be better, depending on the childs age and normal traffic conditions on the route he or she will be walking, to advise him or her to disregard the umbrella, since it is always easier to replace one than an injured child. Even though many of us give little thought to choosing or using an umbrella, kids may look it at a little differently, even considering it a type of adult gear. So help your kids pick a fitting device that will be easy to use as well as efficient in keeping them dry. For more information about umbrellas, visit The Umbrella Site. Celebrity Beauty Secrets

May 9th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Allison Saunders So you want to look like a star? Who doesnt? It would be really nice to wake up and have someone else worry about your hair and makeup. Celebrities have people whose very jobs are to help famous faces look their best. Award-winning actresses, runway models, even pop stars all depend on their looks. Do advertisers want to feature close-ups of crows feet? Who wants to see cellulite on the big screen? Teen idols should look young and fresh so their audience will want to be like them. Its their job to look great. Without a beautifully packaged look, theyre out of work. So work they do. They work at their beauty. And so can you. But, you dont have beauty professionals at your beck and call Oh, but you do. Just not the same ones the celebrities do. You’re worthy of a cast of beauty professionals, too. You deserve it and its not a luxury impossible to afford. Consider your beauty people and, if you choose carefully, you will have professionals looking out for you, keeping you up to date on the best products, colors and techniques available for you. How do you choose the right people? Use only professionals whose overall look is something you like. If you’re seeking a natural look, look for make-up and hair stylists who successfully achieve that look. If they can do it for themselves, they can teach you the same techniques they’re using. If you want to appear polished and sophisticated, use a stylist whose own personal style impresses you. Department store makeup counter salespeople Use them. You dont need to buy any of their products, unless you want to. But what they can teach you at no cost is something you should really take advantage of. They’re trained in proper technique and are up on the latest trends. Independent beauty consultants That neighbor leaving catalogs in your mailbox is a good source of ideas. Invite her over and let her give you a makeover. Again, you’re not obligated to purchase anything unless you really want it. Hairdressers Hairstyles change with the times, so should your stylist. If shes not attending stylists conventions or changing her own hairstyle, shes not as professionalas you deserve. So, now you have your people. What do stars do when theyre at home being people, not stars? Beauty Sleep Its not a myth. Get yours. No caffeine or limited caffeine if you must. It causes premature aging, and who needs that? Shimmer creams and bronzers help stars shine. Eat Fish like sardines and salmon. They’re full of essential oils that actually nourish your skin. No smoking Not only is it bad for your health, it causes lines and dullness in your skin. Your skin care regime It doesnt have to be expensive. Your products can come from the local drug store. Everyone benefits from a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer. Always, always, always remove makeup at the end of the day. Two more minutes of sleep is not worth a blemished face in the morning.Quick fixes from famous faces. *Coffee grounds can be recycled and used as a cellulite scrub. *Castor oil, used by a certain British raven- haired actress/spokesperson/ beauty, creates star quality shine for hair. *Cinnamon oil (check your health food or vitamin store) rubbed on the lips creates pouty, kissable lips. *Soak your nails in olive oil, as does a Hollywood Pretty Woman. *A combination of milk and water mixed in equal parts, spritzed on the face throughout the day is all the rage with many silver screen beauties. *Legally Blonde hair is baby soft and shiny thanks to baby shampoo. Glow like a star. You deserve to look your best. Treat yourself to a day of beauty - at home or at the salon. Diets, Exercise, Health, and Weight Loss

May 4th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Donovan Baldwin Square one. Stop thinking about diet, diets, dieting, on a diet, fad diet, latest diet, celebrity diet, diet pills, diet plans, diet programsad nauseumliterally! A diet is simply what you eat! Your diet can consist of chocolate donuts or alfalfa sprouts, but most “Diets”, with a capital “D” will not set you free. Instead, they lock you in a cage. Eat anything other than what they prescribe, and you are a failureat least, so reads their literature. Of course, what we eat and when we eat it can play a big part in weight lossor weight gain. Even where we eat can be a factor. Ever eat too much at Grandmas on Thanksgiving? I have. How about that cocktail party when you went wandering over to the snack traysand drank one more drink because someone offered it to you? Okay, for me it would be sitting at the bar ordering one more beer (light, of course) because the games not over yet. Oh yeah, pass the chips. FORGET THE WORD “DIET” Lets just eat healthy and live healthyOK, Sister Mary Fideshealthily. I know. Its an adverb. HERES THE LOWDOWN ON WEIGHT LOSS. If you take in more calories than you use, you gain weight. If you burn more calories than you take in, you lose weight. Proven scientific fact. No ifs, ands, or buts. Although we are all different and our bodies shuffle quantities of calories and file them a little bit differently from our neighbors bodies, we can all contribute to weight loss by taking in fewer calories or by burning more caloriesor both. Youve already figured out that using both techniques simultaneously will be more effective than trying to accomplish successful weight loss with only one. Im going to assume that the reason you want to lose weight is to improve your quality of life. You are concerned about your health. Being over fat can contribute to major and minor health problems. Yes, you honestly believe it would be great to lose weight, but you dont want to be miserable, and neither do the people around you. By the way, I said over fat, rather than overweight, because healthy people can weigh more than what the charts and tables say they should weigh. Weight per se is not the problem. Its the fat that cripples and kills people, so I was just making a point. According to the charts, when he was in the best physical condition of his life, Arnold Schwarzenegger was “overweight”, but I doubt he was “overfat”. WELL, YOU CAN CUT CALORIES BY DIETING. RIGHT? First, if not at the beginning, then somewhere in the diet, you will begin to feel deprived, depressed, and desirous of dessert. (Neat trick with the ds, eh?) You might even feel like youre being punished. Cant eat the things you like. Can only eat asparagus, or bean sprouts, or three from this column and two from that columnexcept on the third Tuesday when the moon is full. Is it any wonder you and any other living human might quit a diet simply because of this nonsense? By the way, I would like to suggest you take a glance at my article 10 REASONS DIETS DON’T WORK which can be found by visiting my websites below. THE REAL REASON DIETS DONT WORK. As if discomfort and stress were not enough, there are actually a couple of hidden reasons why diets dont work. Im not even going to go into the effects of stress and cortisol on your weight. Thats a book by itself, but there’s a small article on Cortisol at http://nodiet4me.net/cortisol/index.htm IN FACT, DIETING CAN MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT. Most diets are structured on one principlecut calories taken in. Most of us burn calories at a given rate based on our age, physical makeup, activity, and heredity. The rate at which we burn calories is called the “metabolic rate”. Our metabolic rate is unique to each of us, and is simply the measure of how fast we burn, or metabolize, calories. As we grow older, the metabolic rate slows down and eating the same number of calories as last year will cause us to gain weight. As we age, we also tend to become less active, and our body gradually changes its metabolic rate based on our activity levels as well. When you begin to cut calories drastically, as in most diets, your body responds by lowering your metabolic rate. Even though youve cut your calorie intake, it now takes fewer calories to maintain your weight. While eating less, you might even find yourself gaining weight. What usually happens when someone gets on board with an extreme diet? Well, eventually, they usually fall off the wagon and go back to their old eating habitsperhaps even bingeing a little.or a lot! If their body has learned to get by on fewer calories, whats going to happen to the calories that are now excess? They will be stored as more fat. If calories are cut too drastically, the body may actually begin eating itself, and it only wants the best! Its going to go after muscle tissue. The problem with this is that muscle burns calories more effectively than other body components. When you lose muscle tissue, or muscle mass, you burn fewer calories. You are also probably not going to feel as well or as energetic, so you will become less active. So again, simply cutting down on calories might create a double whammy working against you. By the way, one of the sources of muscle tissue that the body might begin to break down is called the heart! Theres no way that can be good for you. Okay, youve slowed down your metabolism and lost muscle mass. Now youre disillusioned and depressed because youre not losing like you thought you would. You have less energy and youre hungry all the time. Youre fed up with eating the same old stuff, youre miserable, your family doesnt understand, theres nobody to talk to! Oh! One little dish of ice cream wont hurt, will it? YOU KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT ONE! Next thing you know, youre in the gutter surrounded by burgers and fries and chocolate milk shakes. Lo! How the mighty have fallen. Nope, youre just human. But now youre depressed (which can contribute to weight gain) because you failed again. On top of everything else, youre gaining again. How did that happen? Remember what we said earlier about your metabolism slowing down and the body depleting its supply of muscle tissue? Well, with less muscle tissue you burn fewer calories, and, as you saw earlier, the body has slowed down its metabolic rate and doesnt need as many calories to survive. Go back! Its a trap! ITS A VICIOUS CYCLE, ISNT IT? WHAT CAN YOU DO? You could hire a dietician to help you plan meals. You can take prepared menus shopping to help you buy the specific ingredients needed for healthy, nourishing meals. You could take some courses and learn how to do all this yourself. Theres where the diet problem lies. To control calorie intake properly, somebody has to be in charge of the nutritional side of a planned weight loss program. You can take the responsibility on yourself, but be prepared to spend a lot of time planning, preparing, and compensating. There are organizations and companies who can provide the guidance, planning, and/or products to help. You might want to look at: NutriSystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, or TOPS International. These can provide you with a broad range of delicious planned meal choices which can help you stay on target. EXERCISE AND WEIGHT LOSS: Remember that part about metabolism and muscle mass? When you engage in physical activity; gardening, walking, weight lifting, swimming, biking or dance aerobics, for example, you burn more calories during the activity than during times at rest or most other less strenuous activities. This is good, but it gets better. If the activity is strenuous enough, your metabolic rate can remain elevated for some time after the activity has ended. Uh Oh! I said strenuous, didnt I? Look, what is strenuous enough for you is what YOU can handle, not what some Olympic miler can do. Do what you can, and your body will figure it out. In fact, your body is going to get all upset and team up with your mind and convince you that this is JUST TOO HARD if you try to do too much at first. Thats one of the reasons many well intentioned exercise programs dont last. The other main reason is that people expect too much in too short a time. It took years to get out of shape, you arent going to reverse that in a week, a month or even two. The degree to which the metabolism is raised, and the length of time it remains raised, will depend on various factors, of course, but one key factor is obviously the intensity and duration of the activity. However, the bottom line is that if you want to lose or control your weight, some sort of activity is important. SO, HERES THE SOLUTION: Combine increased activity (okay, exercise) with a controlled calorie intake, and you have the basic ingredients for healthy weight loss. Forget the pills, fad diets, and, except in the most extreme cases, surgical procedures. Now, exercise is a broad field, and so is nutrition, and there is no way I can go into all the possible variations on those themes here. The programs mentioned above, NutriSystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and TOPS Club, Inc. provide guidance on nutrition and exercise. Additionally, they provide one other highly important ingredient for success.SUPPORT! Some have meetings, some have online support, but the key is that you can communicate with others who know what you are going through. No one weight loss program is necessarily right for everyone. Take a look at these programs and decide which will work for you, or work out your own weight loss program. Remember also, we are all human, so please forgive yourself if you slip and fall. The Benefits of Cedar and Teak Outdoor Furniture

April 28th, 2008 by yumihesche

By Thomas Easterday There are many things you should take into consideration when selecting your outdoor furniture. For instance, you need to figure out how much upkeep is involved with each type of furniture, and how long the piece will last before it should be replaced. You also need to research how easy the furniture will to clean, and exactly how much you want to spend on each piece of outdoor furniture. Two of the most popular types of outdoor furniture are built with cedar and teak, and each type of wood has a distinct list of advantages. Lets start with cedar. Northern White Cedar is often used for furniture both outdoors and indoors. This type of wood is known for its strength and durability and is naturally impervious to insect attacks, general decay, weather damage, and basically anything else that Mother Nature can throw at it. Cedar has a high strength to weight ratio, meaning that while it is very strong and durable, you usually will not have a problem moving the furniture around because it is so light. If that is not enough, Cedar is also attractive. It tends to come with a natural gold, silver or tan color, but will fade to a bleached silver color when exposed to the elements, and stay that way for the next few decades. Teak is another strong choice when purchasing outdoor furniture. Even though teak is one of the more expensive types of wood used for outdoor furniture, it is also one of the most durable woods. Teak also weathers very well. After spending season after season in the elements, teak takes on an attractive weathered look. It is a dense and hardy wood, so the weather, insects, and the sun have trouble doing any harm to it. Some folks choose to stain their teak furniture, but there are some risks involved with this approach. Be sure that you will be happy with the stain because it will be permanent once you apply it. However, applying a layer of paint or stain to teak furniture is a great way to help protect your furniture for years against the, rain, wind, and the sun. While some people choose teak because of its strong and durable features, others choose cedar because it is a less expensive, yet very beautiful and weather proof wood that makes for an attractive piece of outdoor furniture. Basically, choosing your outdoor patio furniture comes down to your preference. Both teak and cedar make great pieces of furniture for your outdoor space.
